buying a snake
Here at Tyron’s corns and colubrids we strive to sell the best that we can. By raising snakes well over the norm before selling we insure our snakes are 100% healthy and get to their new owners in tip top shape. If you are interested in purchasing any of our amazing snakes, do not hesitate to contact use for any information you may seek. We do offer viewings on all our snakes on appointment so you can come and see your new snake first hand. We always recommend hands on approach to purchasing your new pet snake.
Snakes can be reserved with the payment of a deposit. The deposit amount will depend on the total amount for your purchase. We allow snakes to be kept for up to 30 days after receiving the deposit. Should the buyer not be ready after the 30 days, additional charges will be incurred for the feeding and housing of the snake(s).
All snakes are strictly to be sold with the relevant permits required. It is, by law, a requirement that any snakes sold from our premises is accompanies by a transport permit. This permit allows the legal transportation of a snake from our facility to the buyers residence. The permit fee is a non-refundable amount of R150.00 paid by the buyer, which is to be paid before the buyer takes ownership of the snake. Once the permit is received, the buyer may collect his/her snake. Payment of the snake may be done together with the permit fee or once the permit has been received.
Cross province transport will require applying for an export permit instead and will cost the same as a normal local transport permit.
We do offer discounts on multiple purchases and also bulk discounts for our retail customers. The discounts will be negotiated depending on the purchase amounts and payment plans can also be offered.
Bulk discounts to our retail customers or even to private customers who want to buy multiple snakes, are subject to a minimum of 10 snakes purchased.
It is always recommended to inspect your animals on receipt, we always strive to sell the best quality animals, however we are dealing with live animals and there is always that tiny chance that something might be missed or go wrong. It is possible to return your snake after 48 hours for a full refund should there be any issues with your snake. You have the option of a full refund or you may swop the snake out with another of equal value, or a cash difference can be paid if it’s slightly more expensive. We are human beings here at Tyron’s corns and colubrids and are able to adapt and understand our customers circumstances.
We unfortunately do not give out credit for our animals and do not offer any credit services.
We unfortunately do not book snakes that are not yet physically with us. This means that we do not take bookings on our future up coming breeding plans as there is never a guarantee that we will have a successful season. As mentioned we deal with live animals and anything can happen. Should the snakes have hatched and are not yet ready to be sold, we will accept bookings on these in the form of a 50% deposit. Once the snake is ready to be sold, it will then not be added to the website and the permit fee will then have to be paid.
