Some snakes prefer to be left alone and other tolerate handling very well.
The species of snake being kept will depend on this factor. For example, a corn snake, king snake or ball python can be handled as often as you would like and they don't seem to mind at all after they become used to being handled.
Snakes like tree boas, green tree pythons and obviously venomous snakes usually do not tolerate being handled often well, or being handled in general.
You will refrain from handling your snake straight after it has eaten. Leave the snake alone for about 48 hours to allow digestion to occur. If you handle the snake too quickly after feeding, it may regurgitate (vomit) its food. And that can lead to health issues.
